森の会話。(拡張現実) Dialogue with the Forest(VR)

Artist Note:
I believe that we resemble nature and that our society is like this forest. The peaceful and beautiful nature of the forest contrasts with the fierce life of the living creatures in it. All these parts work together to create the beautiful colors, sounds, and scents, found in the forest. “Dialogue with the Forest: I wanted to show that though from the outside, the forest seems peaceful and beautiful, hiding underneath this facade is the natural struggle for survival. Using AR, I can reveal this hidden world through my art.
自然の夢を見る (Dreaming of Nature.)

人になりたい鹿の話。(The tale of a deer who wants to be human.)

Watercolor on paper.
I wanted to create some new artwork that is relevant to Nara City and to utilize the space in the exhibition as an element of the artwork because as the location and exhibition space are quite unique. Before creating any work, I took a look around the Nara area, and I observed numerous deer interacting with people. Deer would occasionally appear almost human to me as they would interact so closely with people in the park. I also noticed a young child running and jumping around the park by herself. In that situation, she looked mysterious. At that point, I started imagining the story for this drawing: a deer who adores all the residents and tourists of Nara wants to be one of them. One girl also adored the deer and wished she could turn into one. A single deer and a girl are the subjects of the tale. Because I wanted the audience to be able to create their own interpretation of the story, the paintings are not displayed in any specific order. I only used one color to paint this scene because I didn’t want to disrupt the mood of the room with too many hues, and I think blue has a dream-like quality to it.

7. 「ここにあなたの光を見いだす (Find your light here.)

I like to make suncatchers because they bring, to the indoors, bright colors and light that, in my opinion, makes people happy. I hung up a few of my suncatcher mobiles in the garden. It will bring bright energy to the exhibition and the audience while following the sun’s movement.
