Bio

Yura Kim is a Korean visual artist based in Japan. Working across painting and installation, she explores themes of environment, perception, and memory through natural elements such as water, fire, and air. Her recent projects reflect on coexistence and transformation within ecological and human systems. She has exhibited in Korea, Japan, Germany, and the United States.

My work begins with observing the subtle connection between humans and nature. The traces we leave behind—visible or invisible—disturb the natural world, yet gradually blend into it, becoming part of its ongoing cycle. Through quiet transformations found in water, fire, and air, I explore the fragile threshold where disappearance and emergence coexist. By combining found marine debris with materials such as fabric and thread, I reconstruct fragments of human presence and nature’s memory, visualizing their intertwined relationship.

Born in   Seoul,Korea. Lives and works in Kobe, Japan
