About the Exhibition
What We Cannot Separate explores the entangled relationship between humans and nature.
In her earlier work, Yura Kim examined how landscapes change depending on distance and perspective—appearing peaceful from afar while revealing traces of human intervention at closer view. In this exhibition, her perspective shifts from looking at the landscape from the outside toward what unfolds within it.
Through new abstract paintings and installation works, lines, forms, natural elements, and human-made materials overlap and become difficult to separate. The exhibition considers how humans and nature continually affect and transform one another, and how what we leave behind continues through other forms and relationships.
